Antique Ronson / Kathodian Bronze Works Cherub Bookends – Art Deco c. 1920s
This is a beautiful pair of antique patinated metal bookends attributed to Ronson Art / Kathodian Bronze Works (KBW), dating to the 1920s Art Deco era.
Each bookend features a nude cherub (putti) intently opening a large book, a classic allegorical design associated with Louis V. Aronson, founder of Ronson. The figures are finely detailed, capturing movement and expression typical of early 20th-century decorative bronze work.
These bookends are crafted from white metal with a bronze patinated finish and have a substantial, heavy feel, weighing approximately 3.5 lbs per piece—excellent for supporting large or antique books.
Condition:
Good antique condition consistent with age. There is light rusting and surface distressing to the bronze patina, adding to their authentic vintage character. No major damage or repairs noted. Please review photos closely for surface wear and patina variations.
