Captain Jack Modoc chief denied the right to live on their own land. The Modoc’s little band of 52 warriors brought about one of the most costly Indian wars in US history. Defying the government for over a year, 1000 soldiers did not end this war with Captain Jack and his warriors it was internal dissertation.
