Vintage Amethyst Glass Decanter / Barber Bottle with Stopper – 19th Century Style
This beautiful amethyst glass bottle with stopper is a likely vintage or antique decanter or barber bottle dating to the 19th century. It features a distinctive bulbous base paired with a long, slender neck, giving it an elegant and timeless silhouette.
The bottle is made of hand-blown glass with a rich purple (amethyst) hue, characteristic of early glassmaking techniques. Similar examples have been attributed to British production from approximately the 1810s to 1865. The stopper appears to be original to the piece; however, the cork shows age-related wear and may have shrunk over time, which is typical for items of this age.
Measurements (approximate):
- 7 1/2 inches tall without stopper
- 9 inches tall with stopper
Condition:
- Overall very good vintage condition
- A couple of minor scuffs and tiny surface scratches consistent with age and use
- No major chips or cracks noted
A wonderful addition for collectors of antique glass, barber bottles, decanters, or Victorian-era decor. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
