Vintage WWII-Era U.S. Mail Leather Postal Carrier / Messenger Bag – Heavy-Duty Leather – Bona Allen
Offered is a vintage, heavy-duty leather U.S. Mail postal carrier or messenger bag with an incredible, well-worn appearance and plenty of vintage character.
This large leather bag features a dark, heavily weathered patina, a substantial construction, and a center strap closure. Bags of this type were used for carrying mail, documents, and official correspondence, and heavy-duty leather postal bags were manufactured during the World War II era for government and military-related use.
Historical Note: Bona Allen Inc., based in Buford, Georgia, was a major American leather manufacturer and supplied leather goods for government and military use during the WWII era. The construction and style of this bag are consistent with vintage heavy-duty leather postal/messenger bags from this period; however, we are not claiming specific Bona Allen manufacture or military-issued provenance unless confirmed by markings.
